Finally got my mirror screen protector for my iPhone cos I managed to fuck up my new (normal) screen protector while applying it in a bad mood. Needless to say my phone looks hideous, like plagued with boils. I had not gotten round to putting the mirror screen protector but I'm getting Dancing to help me so I won't screw up once again.

Smoochiezz Haul once again

Smoochiezz has a flea at Far East Plaza and I knew I shouldn't miss it so we scooted down there and bought up a storm. I know my haul looks subdued because half of it is Christmas presents which I can't show and they brought a smaller range of makeup, more focused on nail varnishes.

For those of you like me, absolutely adore UDPP or Urban Decay Primer Potion, will know the pain in the ass of paying $33 for a small tube and going through the paranoia and anxiety of every passing day that your primer is running low. So I'm on the search for finding a new primer which I know will never be as good as UDPP but some where close? Starting small, I bought this ELF Essential Eyelid Primer for $3. Okay let's face it, it's 3 bucks. You don't expect much. I've tried it a couple of times and yes my eyelids feels 'primed' after I put it on, make up does seem to stay on but it does nothing to improve the colour pay off to some of my lesser pigmented eyeshadows. Maybe I should go out with one eye done with ELF and UDPP and compare! I think there might be an obvious difference.

ELF Studio Flat Top Powder Brush and Stippling Brush

The Flat Top Powder Brush, this I have high hopes for. It's soft and dense. I use this to pat on blush to the apples of my cheeks. Might consider purchasing another for my loose powder or something.

Ah, now the Stippling Brush, I purchased this on a whim as it was placed next to the flat top brush. This at first I was quite disappointed with. I'm not asking for duo fibre or anything. But this brush isn't every dense as you can see above. It's soft but the ends are pretty prickly. I tried it out and I must say that it does a better job than my Daiso sponge (sucks up my foundation) and my ELF Essentials Foundation Brush (Please don't buy this, just buy a regular paint brush). It spreads out my foundation and after awhile later of stabbing myself with the brush, my make up seems to have blended out. Saying it's 'pseudo airbrushed' is far-fetched but my foundation does blend more evenly. I've only tried it out once because I'm not that into cake foundation anymore. I regularly use concealer and compact powder only. For the price, I think that this brush is worth a try especially if you're just starting out with make up.

Lipsticks!

I only bought one. Just took a picture to illustrate my story.

Not too long ago, I was into light shades of baby pink like the one on the left. When I received this brown lipstick (the middle) I didn't care much about it. I thought it was too mature or not suitable for my skin colour. But after awhile I realised that I've been reaching for it quite often as the lipstick bullet was running low. I've never finished a tube of lipstick so I was determined to finish it up. I tossed it into my make up bag and promptly forgot about it. Soon I started my internship and my makeup tastes changed and expanded. I gradually moved away from pink lipsticks as they made me look less professional and found myself reaching for this lipstick again as it matched most of my make up. But my love came too late, the line of this lipsticks has been discontinued and I'm unable to do a repurchase. I was heartbroken and I almost did a rebound to some shitty plastic smelling lipsticks on the shelves. Then I found the lipstick on the right. It's not exactly the same as my lovely lipstick but close... quite close. It's not too nude or frosty (which I hate because it makes me into an ice queen. Any takers for frosty lipsticks? I have 2) and wearable. So who are these key players?

From the swatches they are quite similar though Darling is leaning slightly towards frosty but that's still tolerable. Of cos my quest for my perfect shade doesn't end here. Do I smell another obsession?

I think I'm the worst person to shop with at Smoochiezz flea. Dancing who was planning not to purchase anything ended up buying a blush brush, a blending brush and a bronzer all from ELF due to my hard recommendations. HAHAHAHA! Don't shop with me if you're easy swayed okay!

My dad suggested to bring my grandma out for a little walk to see the Christmas Lights at Sentosa, Orchard and MBS. My grandma hasn't been out of our neighborhood for 5 years, other than for weddings. Some of the pictures are very shaky as I took them with one hand and my grandma was holding on to my other arm. It's heartwarming at my grandmother rather hold on to me in the duration of the walk than to use her umbrella. I still do feel abit sad though, that I'm unable to communicate with her due to our language barrier. But I'm grateful to my dad for making me a part of this.

It's been raining all day and all I've been doing all day is rolling around in bed doing nothing but watch youtube videos on my phone while feeling cold and like a bag of useless bones. This is what rainy Saturdays and menstrual cramps reduce me to. This is awful. I haven't bathed, done anything constructive (unless you call blogging and painting my nails constructive), have an excel sheet open which needs to be done with the week's report, had 2 meals (one in bed, one in front of the computer) and I'm still hungry. I'm cranky. CRANKY YOU HEAR ME CRANKY! I feel like shit, I don't feel like doing anything, my sister is playing some fucking house techno noise that is disorientating my brain, need my cancer stick badly, want to roll in bed some more and sleep all night and all Sunday BUT I CAN'T! There's a freaking reservoir pooling between my legs, I still have a load of shit to do, 3 blogposts I still have to put out, messages that won't leave me alone, a sales report to write and I have to get out of the house for a fix and it's cold out PLUS I have to attend the Standard Chartered Run tomorrow at freaking 7.30 am at Raffles City Starbucks (kudos to me if I oversleep) when I'm freeflowing like no one's business in a short skirt. Gahhhhh the shit that I have to deal with. Breathe Charmaine Breathe.... Okay all I smell is my hamster's tank which the bedding needs changing... Oh goddddddddddddddddddddd.....

I'm just ranting right now, waiting for the damn top coat to dry so I can drag myself to do something more worthwhile. I hope your day went better than mine. Adieu my friends.

It's been awhile since I've ate at Pizza Hut. So after a couple of beers at Blk 422 while waiting for Dancing to finish her interview, we strolled over to an outlet at Ang Mo Kio Central. Over beef meatballs, mushroom soup, weak iced lemon tea and seafood baked rice, our conversation gravitated towards interview questions and relationships. The food was average but did nothing to dampen the mood. Good company is always awesome even if we're watching a bad movie or doing absolutely nothing at all, chilling under random blocks of flats getting hit by the pouring rain.

My 10 blush palette got delivered to my house last night at 9pm which was weird but it's cool cos I got package in the morning as well before I left for work. Both packages are from Gmarket! I'm starting to love that site! So efficient! I ordered this palette on Monday and I got it on Tuesday omg! Even blogshop service isn't this fast!

After this palette I don't think I'll need to feed my blush obsession anymore! IM SPOILT FOR CHOICE 10 DIFFERENT SHADES OF BLUSHES TO PLAY WITH! I even threw away my hideous hot pink Daiso blush! I've used 2 of the orange shades today and I think it's awesomely wearable. The brighter orange (2nd top right) needs a light hand and blending though! I'm still thinking about how to use the hot pink under the bright orange without looking like a wayang monster. I think it's really worth the price though and since it's sans the 'Coastal Scents' logo, it's a lot cheaper and the color payoff is very pigmented. So yay for a good deal!

Okok no more blushers for me! My friends are like breathing down my neck for hoarding make up!

My new signature scent: Love Etc. It all started with 2 sample phials that Nicole gave me when she was working at The Body Shop and that was years ago. I've used it through on and off and no matter how many other perfumes I have, it's still my comfort scent. To me it's this soft pillow embrace of fragrance that is hard to describe. Not overpowering, too sweet, not too girly, not too floral. I just like it. I then bought the purse size spray and carried it around everywhere for a pick me up spritz throughout the day. Now I've just purchased the largest 50ml bottle and I'm pretty happy about it. I know I won't grow out of it, at least not yet. (Rmb Jeanne Lavin La Plume that I was raving about? I kind of got sick of the scent some how) The Body Shop now has a promotion of 30% off all their fragrances so that was one of the pushes for me to purchase. Love it how the interior of the box is hot pink. Definitely worth it to buy it now!

Found this in the most unlikeliest rack of $10.

I know I'm so slow in shopping for a Fall/Autumn wardrobe that it's coming to Winter already.

Not that we have seasons in Singapore but it's still fun to dress up for the seasons no matter how inappropriate it is for our weather.

Plum, Wine and Burnt Orange are in this season so this dress falls nicely into that category.

I know that I don't need anymore outerwear but how can I pass this up when I've already let this piece run through my fingers once already in the Ang Mo Kio Song and Song outlet. At first it looks like something a grandmother would wear when the weather got colder but when you throw it on, it really looks different. Very Fall appropriate but still good through all seasons. One word of caution to myself: wear it only indoors or rainy weather.

How can I ever go to Song and Song anymore without coming out with bandage skirts? Their skirts are really of good material and quality, Dee should know too. This is my first printed bandage skirt. I don't think you can see it from here but it's dotted with red, orange and yellow stripes on black. Yes once again very Fall ready. I chose this over a large floral printed bandage skirt as the big roses made my ass look extra big but if you do like floral prints, do check that out.

Best find. I was looking high and low for a long sleeved white shirt as I've realised their versatility with various outfits. I was lucky to pull out an S out of the XL and 2Xs. Though this doesn't button all the way down but I'm not griping as it's only $10!

I don't usually buy shirts like this! I think Kehui's cutesy taste is getting to me. It's polka dots on pale pink with a girl with blue hair and words that says 'LOOK AT ME!' Errr... doesn't sound like something I would pick out for myself right! I'm usually clad in plain black and hate hate slogan tees with graphics. But it was too cute and I just had to purchase it. I'll probably wear this to meet my friends for dinner or my trips to Malaysia.

Pig Pink (Old Navy I think) Tank I got as a sample at Song and Song ($3!! How can you buy Cotton On basics after this price??!?!) for my cheerleading group outfit for the Standard Chartered Marathon this coming Sunday. Luckily I'm not participating in the run or I'll probably fall dead somewhere on the scorching hot pavement and have my skin burnt off. I was thinking of having the skirt something on the lines of what I'm wearing in the picture, but hot pink. But see how it goes, I'll be shopping with the girls on Wednesday and we have a $100 budget. /rubs hands in anticipation

Bought The Face Shop Nail polishes since Dancing and I are in this French Manicure craze right now. Once again, not something that I will get, those pale milky colours. But I do feel a change coming and I'm quite happy to welcome it. Heh heh heh

Sally Hansen Dries Instantly Top Coat

Hate it when my nail polishes get smudged or damaged in the process of drying.

Decided to fork out a bit more than I usually do for Top Coats which I usually don't care for. Turns out it's quite worth it, does quick which allows me to move about and do things without too much trouble. Only the top is dry though, the bottom layers might still be wet so don't go pressing it too hard.

Hey guys, I know I haven't been updating my blog properly and frequently for the past few months. The excuse is I've been busy with work and catching up on sleep that my life basically went to wack. For this week, I've trying to stablise my habits (again): slowly doing laundry again and going crazy over face masks again.

So here's my Blush Collection at I've promised. Yes I'm obsessed with blushers. I don't know how it started. I wasn't big on blushers for many years because my face is naturally red and blushers never did anything for me then. Now since I've started to slather on a mask of face paint when I leave the house, I can't seem to miss out my blush fix. Maybe my obsession with pink also has something to do with it? /shrugs/ I have 13 blushers now and soon I'm planning to get a 10 Blush palette. Teehee somebody stop me!!!!!! Let me walk you through my obsession.

Decided to turn out my whole make up collection and repack the darn drawer as it was getting too messy for a Virgo's comfort. I lost my eyeliner somewhere and that pissed me off to no end because it impedes my already snail pace make up process.

1) ELF All Over Color Stick

Though I bring this around everywhere in my make up bag, I don't actually use it.

I keep it in there for emergencies. But for emergencies only. Since it comes in a tube there won't be any powdery spills or any messy accidents. Even that said, please don't leave your bag out in the sun. It's a bit too frosty for my liking, the colour doesn't come out unless you really pack it on, which I advice against. It's a cream base so that doesn't agree with my oily skin. Does have a cheap make up scent to it. You can use this on your lips too but once again, I won't recommend it.

2) Maybelline Blush Studio Mousse in 01 Pink Marshmallow

I found this in my mom's cupboard, took it but never used it much. Firstly, it's a cream blush, like I said, doesn't do well on oil skin. Secondly, the pink shade doesn't show up well on my skin and my mom's (that was after a long while later when I passed it back to her and she rejected it cos she didn't like the colour. Now she keeps snooping into my blush collection for blushers I don't use. Luckily for me she only uses pink blushers) it's too glittery which is never good for blushers because it makes you either look oily or prom-night-disaster. Lastly, it comes in a container which is the bane of girls with long nails. Hate it hate it when products get stuck under my nails ugh!

3) The Body Shop Nature Minerals Cheek Colour

In 04 Brown Topaz

So we're done with those cream blushers, now this is my only loose powdered blush which is actually a pain to apply because it gets everywhere and I need to do the whole: Tap into cap, swirl in the cap, tap off excess and apply routine. But it's pretty worth it as it makes my skin look tanned and glowy after you blend it out properly (which means you have to go in with a powdered foundation brush to blend it till natural looking). This was supposed to be a bronzer for me but I can't contour for nuts, my fat cheeks have no hope! I will look like an Amazon with camouflage stripes. Sighs. I initially wanted this in Pink Quartz which was a beautiful shade of pink but I was a fool to pass it up. T___T Overall, I'm quite happy with this blush and I use it occasionally when I'm going for an earthy neutral look.

4) Daiso Rouge in Pink

This is a joke, please don't buy this. This is terrible, I don't even want to talk about it. I don't know why I even bought it or am still keeping it. It's a HOT PINK, hard to blend out... omg don't make me think about it. All that's coming to mind is WAYANG/CHINESE OPERA MONSTER. Okay enough, next!

5) NYX Mosaic Powder

I was pretty obsessed with this when I first got this. It's very pigmented and very worth it's price. Love it how it's has a mosaic of pinks when can suit different looks, swirl at different parts and get that certain colour. Can get a bit powdery though and I'm pretty heavy handed when it comes to applying blush (bad habit) so it's comes out really strong on my cheeks so a lot of blending has to be done for me. Other than that, it's really awesome. Will consider getting this in Dare which Dee has, it's really pretty too.

6) Daiso Multi-Cheek in Beige

Says 'Made in China'.

It's really not bad a blush! I saw manwomanfilm / sasakiasahi use it in some of her make up videos and I had to get it! This surprisingly runs out of stock fast at Daiso so I had to camp for a few weeks. I think it's an okay blush, not much comments on it. Great if you're on a budget and need colours on your cheeks.

7) Daiso Multicheek in Pink

I didn't notice it until I took this picture and compared between the Beige one! I bought this at the same time! I bought this for my mom as well as she kept trying to swipe mine but she didn't like it as she said it wouldn't blend out properly. I think it works fine with a big powder blush brush though.

8) ELF Natural Radiance Blusher

I bought with classmate awhile back. It's a nice pink sheen that's not too out there yet gives that nice natural flush to cheeks. As you can see here, it's very powdery and has a lot of fall outs. One disappointing thing is that it's really small. Other than that I recommend all to try!

9) Maybelline Angelfit Brighten Up Blush

Dee got this for me for my birthday. It's a pretty and sheer pink with silver glitter in it. It does it need to be packed on quite a bit to be visible to the human eye. Gives a healthy pink glow

As you can see, I've hit pan... since a long time ago. This is one of my first blushers which I stole from my mom's makeup drawer. It's a nice coral shade which I used to be into because my skin was a lot more tan then as compared to now.

This could safely be regarded as my second blush, which is along the lines of Cheek in 03, more coral. I didn't realise it's called Pink Quartz as in my own opinion it's more of an orangey pink rather than pink pink you know? This gives a great colour to your cheeks but needs proper blending or you'll end up with clown cheeks.

In Berry Merry

You don't need me to go on raving about ELF studio blush here as it's pretty well known in the beauty world. For the price, the colour pay off is wonderful, a bit too pigmented if you ask me. With a light hand and proper blending, this blush is very worth every cent. Berry Merry is a plum shade that is also suitable for fairer skin. Plum blushers are suitable for the Fall.

Got my ELF Studio blush in Berry Merry in the mail today. Isn't the blush that I was actually looking at but that's a fault on my part, mixed up the codes. Can't decide if I should just be extravagant and go ahead to purchase Blushing Rose too since that's my first choice. I'll just sit on it for a week of it doesn't kill me too much inside. But Berry Merry is just as swell since it is my second choice. It's a dark plum shade, different from my usual array of pinks and corals. Good for the Fall season which is my intent for purchase. We'll see. I'll try it out tmr to see how it goes.

Hey guy, I know I haven't been posting constantly and properly in this few weeks, close to 2 months it's because I've been busy with work and all that comes along with it. I haven't been on the laptop other than for work which prevents me from surfing and browsing. So my Facebook is dead, tumblr is dead as well and I'm considering removing all my videos from YouTube (not like anyone actually watches my nonsense) because I don't think I'm gonna post up anymore videos cos filming and editing is such a tedious task that I wouldn't want to even bother.

So after 2 months of just getting up and going, I am pretty much due to start organizing my life back on track again. I'm not saying that it's messed up now but it could do with more structure. I've been living everyday as it comes and everyday seems to be packed with stuff to do, places to go to and hanging out. And when I'm not out of the house (which I am most of the time) I'm basically in bed, trying to catch up with sleep. That results in a mundane cycle of life.

Work has been fine, trying to learn as much as I possibly can, tapping on my observational and conversational skills, trying to slowly graduate into adulthood/adult mindset which is quite essential for my progress into work life. There has been some disappointments and setbacks but I'm not taking them too badly. Like how do you expect me to react to them? Sit in a corner and cry and throw a major fit? No. I can't do that anymore. Just suck it up and move on. I am still young and I do have a whole life ahead of me. Roads are not paved for you, you have to find your own way to make them. Might be rocky, might be crossroads but hey, they are still roads to the future right? It's easy for me to get discouraged and lost at this current point of my life but in staying positive. I'll work for the near future and we'll see how I'll move on from there. I'm just thankful that I've met a handful of people that I enjoy talking to and do support me in what ever I do.

Apart from work, I've been out till late most of the time. Adventures have started seeping in. Whether its just finding cheap deals, unplanned hang outs at quiet spots, drinking beers at Tawandang, sipping white wine and champagne at The Wine Company, Dempsey Road or even having to go down to Comcentre to have my phone fixed again. Everything seems to have a certain diversity to it, something different, something I've never tried before. I still love adventures, forever will. Oh by the way, I've decided to take up driving. My line of work (sales which I'm quite interested about) requires me to drive around so before I get a beat up car, I need to get a damn driver's license. A little apprehensive, a little scared that I need to put my name down for driving classes (I messed up at the registration counter yesterday by not bringing my IC) but am still gonna close my eyes, pay the money and sign my life away. My dad advised me to take manual. So watch out fellas, dangerous female driver gonna hit the road. That's if I pass my BTT first...

SOLO JOURNEY TO ZE EAST

Boredom takes me places. Alone at home with nothing (I left my poor laptop, Trouble in the office) but Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince for company, I made a snap decision to tear my lazy fat arse out of my comfy bed and indulge in some retail therapy. Alone. Where should I go? I had a list of make up that I wanted to purchase so I had half the mind to take a bus and a train down (sucks when you have no driver's license) Smoochiezz's warehouse at Jurong East. Yes, alone. Luckily I still had half my wits with me and checked their website, to find that they were having a booth at Singapore Expo. AWESOME OR WHAT? So within an hour, I was out of the house, 45 mins journey and I was at Expo. The hall was filled with booths for a flea market (ends on Sunday if you're interested!) but I walked straight for the make up. One track mind eh? Grabbed a basket and I was ready to go. I had the list of makeup that I made a while back so my purchases were under control. I even managed to put some stuff back and strike them off my list after I swatched them. Nah. 1hr and 30 mins later, $58 poorer and a bagful of makeup (didn't have any mood to shop for clothes, headed straight out after a half-hearted tour around half the hall) I found myself back on the train back home. Met a church friend and I managed to impart a tinge of my make up knowledge (about make up expiry dates). Not bad eh? Back home in less than 4 hours. Yes I'm just bored like that.

I'll do a proper blow by blow round up of the items I got, so you'll have to make do with this teaser. Dug out the good old camera which has been sitting in dust because I'm too fond of using my phone's camera. Convenience over, quality oh yeah.

P/S: As of yesterday (Friday), it's confirmed that I'm not much of a gig/concert kind of person. Maybe it's an extension of my I-hate-festive-seasons-yes-I'm-a-grouch-so-deal-with-it quirk. Erm ok

I had to go down to the doctor's to get my persistent cough checked out. Waking up consecutively at 2am and 4am for a few days in a coughing fit is no joke. My chest is protesting in agony. I think I'm burning calories when I break out into coughs, I can feel a 6 pack forming. Mum brought me to Raffles Medical Clinic (first time) and it was a female doctor (cool but slow!) and I got a bag of drugs, half of which I could identify. Yay! That means my slogging through remembering product names is not in vain.

I finally got my usual contact lenses after torturing my eyes dry with the cosmetic ones. Breathe corneas breathe And finally Watson's had a sale on the Maybelline Mineral Pure Concealer, I waited SO long. Pity that it only comes in 2 shades: 01 Light and 02 Natural which are both light for me. I got 02 though. Eyebags, beware!

Since now I have been bestowed a Curling Tongs I went to get a multipurpose heat protectant for my hair which was not an easy feat as most heat protectants are classified for either Straight/Flat Iron or Curly/Curling Tongs. But I wanted something for both.. of course to save money lah and well, cos I don't do up my hair all the time. I don't even know what's the name of the brand! But does seem to be multipurpose! Let's see how this holds up.

I wasn't in the best of moods lately, due to work, stressing out about future plans and being perpetually sick, I decided to get a hair trim. I went to the salon downstairs my place, much to my mum's displeasure. A little snip goes a long way. The auntie was shocked at the state of my hair and I allowed her to snip away all the offending ends. What a difference a few centimeters make, I do feel a tad lighter.

First time at an IT Fair and working for BRIK

I honestly had fun and I miss everyone that I worked with for those 4 days.

I admit it was really tiring, especially having to rush off into my internship after the last day of the fair. Which meant I was working for 9 days straight before I got a proper weekend. Talk about tiring! But it's quite an experience and that's the most valuable thing. It definitely increased my love for sales and pride for being able to sell Hi Fi sets without any prior technical knowledge.

A bit on the pricier side compared to the rest of the items BUT this has a story.

Those who know me, know I love vintage dresses. I daresay I look good in them.

So, there's this shop in Bugis Street which I always walk in, browse through, covet and walk out, never daring to ask the price. Because for all those who know, vintage clothes can set you back for a minimum of $60. But these dresses are my ultimate weaknesses. So I brought Dee to the shop, since we were both looking for dresses and finally managed to ask the prices and I was so relieved to hear it was afforable, $20 (spaghetti strap dresses) to $25 (collared dresses like mine) to $28 (maxi dresses) range. I even had to borrow from Dee to pay for one of my dresses because I just couldn't get out of the store without buying anything after knowing the prices.

I brought the dresses home and let my mum try them. Wow, it seems that she really transported back in time. Well, it seems she has seen how enthusiastic I am about vintage dresses that she suggested for me to bring her back to the store so she could buy some, probably I can bump off some from her.

Total haul for Sunday which also includes:

1) 200 Double eyelid stickers $3

(which I bought another box because it's pretty awesome, comfortable, invisible and I can wear without make up with, easier to apply, unlike my previous double eyelid stickers I got from Aries for a box of 20 for $1.80! And I thought it was cheap! It was thick (not the L size width, but the thickness of the stickers), not transparent which means I have to use eyeliner to cover if I wanna wear it, sticks out, rough and that contributes to the uncomfortableness. So my excessive purchase of this is now justified)

2) Make up brushes $6 each

(it's f-ing soft for a $6 brush. Even my goat hair brush isn't this soft. Dee and Madeline agree with me. Kehui agrees too lah but she doesn't want me to spend money so she disapproves. I'm banned from spending money, you see. But after trying these out for the first time, my Daiso brushes... seem so inadequate. They are so scratchy and they lose hair often! Or maybe I'm just too rough with them?)

3) Eye Mask

(Free! The auntie gave me free maybe cause I waited for awhile because they were busy with another difficult customer or maybe she was just being nice. Or maybe cos I was nice! I'm the Auntie killer what to do?)

Just when I keep telling Kehui that no mother will dress her daughter in all bright green (she insists that it's a sweet colour for girls), I saw this girl in a green outfit when I exited from the MRT station. I'm... speechless.

Munching viciously on my ultimate midnight/study/laze about/for-any-time-of-the-day snack, seaweed. It's those big ass square pieces that I graze through when I find my mouth itching for some substance. Damaging habit, really, but satisfying nonetheless. If you love me, just get me crates of BIGBANG (oh yeah baby VIP4LYFE) or Triple M (not 3M ah, I know the difference between the makers between seaweed and stationary makers) Seaweed in ORIGINAL FLAVOUR ONLY, and I will be happy forever... well at least till the end of the month when I've worked my way through the whole crate.

Why am I talking about seaweed anyway?? And damn it my fullstop key is wonky.....

Trying to jampack my brain with marketing strategies and distribution strategies and pharmaceutical legistration.... gosh it's killing my brains OHHHHH! By the way, have any of you read about the parallel import laws? I swear it's the most ridiculous thing I've ever came across. All these reading and researching is making my brain as broken as my 'fullstop' key. Ain't gonna lie, this sucks. I rather be off doing calculations for suppositories for Pharmaceutical Compounding and mind you, that is dreadful stuff. I really don't get it. I enjoy this module, I understand the concepts, I do well in class and I present my slides clearly AND WHY THE F-ING TURTLE UNDER THE BRIDGE CAN'T I DO WELL IN MY TESTS? It's not fair when your school doesn't have certain guidelines when it comes to setting test papers. They can throw you a university standard question and tell you to apply the concepts you've learnt. Sorry, faci, I don't have your brains, I don't know what you're thinking, I don't know how you think I will know how to apply the concepts that you think I know.

For all you people who think that getting As is everything, gloat all you want right now because I got a D+, a f-ing a duck under a donkey D. I don't know what to say right now. If you want to give me a D, just give me a straight up D, don't plus plus plus. Makes me feel like shit that I missed 0.5 marks that could have gotten me a C. You really want to torture me don't you? I did well for all the MCQ and short answer questions. What killed me was the single Open Ending Question. Like seriously? I'm not a model, nor a model student. Please don't expect me to give you a model answer or anywhere near that. You asked me 'Is it right that the company focused on researching on a new antibiotic?' You're asking for my damn opinion, aren't you? I gave you my 2 cents and my rationale and what did I get in return? 1.5 out of 7 marks... Thanks man, for nothing.

Enough of rantings, I better get back to the books or rather the useless resources. I hope this week passes quickly, the sooner I'm done with school the better.

Hey guys, I'm feeling down and out after my visit to the pharmacy. Depressed might just be an understatement. Even catching the handsome boy on the 9pm show on Channel 8 isn't gonna cheer me up. I'm feeling really disappointed in myself right now. It makes me wonder what I've been doing in my 3 years in RP. I'm a pharmaceutical science student who is clueless at the fundamentals of the discipline.

There I was, standing at the 'Analgesic' shelf, looking up at the available aspirins. One was manufactured by Bayer ($6.95), a popular aspirin company and another was an 'unbranded' aspirin (which I found out later was Beacon but not the main point, priced at $3).

Here's where the trouble starts:

1) I wondered why there was a price disparity. I was thinking 'oh I know! It's because one is 'branded' (Bayer) and the other one isn't.' But the usual term for 'unbranded' stumped me. We've used it countless of times in class but I just couldn't remember. AT ALL.

The answer for 'unbranded' is Generic drug, which tends to be cheaper.

2) Nevertheless, I took them both down from the top shelf and looked at them. Bayer's aspirin contained 0.5g of active ingredient and 'unbranded' aspirin contained 100mg of active ingredient. Ashamed to admit but I had to consult a PHARMACIST and Google (on the spot) on their differences.

Aspirin of 0.5g or 500mg of active ingredient: for pain relief

Aspirin of 100mg of active ingredient: for blood thinning/anticoagulant purposes, dosage too low for pain relief

3) I ended up getting the cheaper aspirin which was the 'unbranded' one. And it was only when I got home that I noticed it was labeled as ASPIRIN E.C. and that left me wondering what E.C. meant. Yes, I had to use Google again.

I should be kicking myself HARD in my own ass. I've went through this SO SO many times in my previous classes. I can't believe it slipped my mind. I'm so embarrassed right now. It's basic knowledge to at least know the profiles of Aspirin and Paracetamol. And just look at me. Great, I think my brain is a piece of rock.

I know some of you guys don't know much about pharmaceuticals and might just scroll pass this post BUT wait. Don't you want to know a bit more of what you're putting into your body? As we get older, I think that we should be more conscious of what we consume on a daily basis. Relying on other people might not always be the best idea as even professionals like doctors, nurses and pharmacists, could make mistakes. And what seems like a small mistake to them, might be detrimental for your health.

Take for example, recently you have been suffer from gastric pains due to missing meals to rush out an important assignment. And just one fine day, you have a headache before an important meeting. You rush into the pharmacy to get some pills before your meeting and consult a pharmacist for help. Since you're in a hurry, you just merely tell the pharmacist you need medication for you headache and he passes you some aspirin tablets without asking anything further. With that, you pay and leave. A few hours later, you find yourself in great pain in the abdominal region. Why?

Aspirin or acetylsalicylic acid, though helps the relief of headaches, has undesirable side effects of increasing stomach acidity and the risk of stomach ulcers. Taken on empty stomach is a no no. That's why the usage of Paracetamol is preferred over Aspirin.

There you have it. Did you know about that? Good if you do. If you didn't, now you know. There are a lot more things I can scare you with but I will save it for later conversation starters. This is what pharmaceutical science does to you, it makes you fear your life. Every wrong turn, you might just end up dead. Watch what you put into your mouth, you have been forewarned.
